Iran's foreign ministry strongly condemned the strikes in the southern Hormozgan province, branding them a "gross violation" of a fragile, seven-week-old ceasefire. The diplomatic fallout follows state media reports of heavy explosions echoing through the region early Tuesday morning.
In Tuesday's regular US session, the Dow Jones dipped 0.23%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 gained 0.61% and 1.19%, respectively. Driven by sustained momentum in tech stocks, both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 closed at new all-time highs.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average, one of the oldest stock market indices in the world, is compiled of the 30 most traded stocks in the US.
