Within the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy announcement, US President Donald Trump is sharing his own words.
Referring to the Fed, Trump noted a few seconds ahead of the release:
Powell is always too late, even if he does it today.
I hear the Fed will cut rates in September.
Keeping interest rates high is hurting people.
Powell probably won't lower rates today.
Meanwhile, the White House reported that the US President signed an executive order implementing an additional 40% tariff on Brazil, bringing the total tariff amount to 50%. Also, the Trump proclamation imposes a universal 50% tariffs on imports of semi-finished copper products and copper-intensive derivative products, effective August 1st.
Finally, Trump noted that the US is “moving along” well with China, while criticising Canada and India for their high tariffs on US products.

With Trump back, the US-China trade war is meant to resume where it was left, with tit-for-tat policies affecting the global economic landscape amid disruptions in global supply chains, resulting in a reduction in spending, particularly investment, and directly feeding into the Consumer Price Index inflation.
