On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Nov. 3, 2026, DigitalOcean (NYSE:DOCN) raised its revenue outlook for both full-year 2026 and 2027. It's accelerating top-line growth. Expanding software returns on cloud infrastructure drive higher long-term operating margins. Three takeaways from the call stand out for long-term investors.

1. Customers Are Adopting the Complete AI Cloud Platform

Customers building software powered by artificial intelligence (AI) rely on complete cloud services rather than stand-alone graphics processing units (GPUs), which are microchips designed for complex computations. Integrating essential cloud tools with hardware drives higher multiproduct usage across the customer base.

In Q3, 90% of AI customer revenue came from customers that also consume our core cloud primitives. They're not looking for just GPU capacity. They're building and deploying production agent applications on the whole platform.
-- Padmanabhan Srinivasan, Chief Executive Officer

2. Software Innovation Increases Revenue Yield per Megawatt

Maximizing revenue yield per megawatt of data center capacity allows cloud providers to expand profitability without relying solely on physical infrastructure additions. Software capabilities and higher-margin services increase annual recurring revenue (ARR), a metric measuring the annualized value of recurring customer contracts.

Our software continues to make our megawatts more valuable. Our growth is driven more by yield per megawatt than just by the quantity of megawatts we activate. We already deliver industry-leading ARR per active megawatt.
-- Padmanabhan Srinivasan, Chief Executive Officer

3. Disciplined Balance Sheet Management Creates a Competitive Advantage

Maintaining low net leverage, which measures total debt minus cash relative to earnings, provides flexibility during periods of heavy capital expenditure. Conservative balance sheet management enables strategic equipment financing without overextending corporate capital resources.

The way we have carefully managed our balance sheet has turned out to be a competitive advantage in an environment where financial discipline is increasingly valued.
-- Matt Steinfort, Chief Financial Officer

Looking Ahead

Revenue growth is accelerating across product lines, supported by rapid execution on data center deployments. A diversified customer base and modular facility expansions provide operational advantages as computing demand grows. Management is monitoring the cadence of capacity expansion at Tier 1 data centers, which are facilities built to meet top industry standards for power redundancy and uptime.

We like how well positioned we are heading into 2027, and that strong outlook extends into 2028.
-- Matt Steinfort, Chief Financial Officer

Sustained platform adoption positions the business to capture higher software margins as workloads mature. Positive cash flow generation and low leverage maintain strategic flexibility to fund next-generation computing hardware while building long-term shareholder value.

I have never been more confident in where DigitalOcean is headed. The agentic era is here. It rewards exactly the platform we have built. We are accelerating and excited for what's ahead.
-- Padmanabhan Srinivasan, Chief Executive Officer
