The SEC opened the doors to tokenized stocks

Gemini already has a lot of infrastructure in place to take advantage of this regulatory shift and could become a major player in what could be a lucrative new market.

The bottom line

The rule change could change the economics for Gemini, but how large an opportunity this is remains to be seen. At the moment, the company is still struggling, and there's a way to go before it proves it can return money to investors.

Second-quarter 2026 revenue rose 37% to $45.5 million, but exchange revenue fell 38% to $12.5 million as trading volume dropped to $3.8 billion from $11.3 billion. The company's net loss came in above $107 million.
