Shares of the artificial intelligence (AI) software specialist have shot up 60% over the past three months, driven by the company's accelerating growth and the healthy prospects of the AI software market. But can Palantir stock sustain its healthy momentum over the next five years and make investors richer?

Palantir's addressable market is poised to take off

Palantir's Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) has played a central role in accelerating the company's growth over the past three and a half years. The platform was launched in April 2023 to help enterprises and governments integrate generative AI into their operations, and it has been extremely successful.

AIP has not only helped increase Palantir's customer count but also encouraged more spending by existing customers. As a result, Palantir has seen a significant increase in profitability over the past three years, along with accelerating revenue growth.

The good news for Palantir investors is that the AI platforms market that the company serves is poised to take off over the next five years. Advisory and research provider Futurum Group estimates that the AI platforms market could grow from $110 billion in 2025 to $497 billion in 2030 in a base-case scenario. It is worth noting that Futurum expects the market size to reach $358 billion in 2030 under a bear scenario, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 27%.

The bull case scenario suggests a 49% CAGR through 2030, with the market size poised to reach $811 billion by the end of the forecast period. Palantir, therefore, is scratching the surface of a huge growth opportunity that could send its shares soaring over the next five years.

The stock's incredible rally seems sustainable

Palantir's 2025 revenue increased by 56% to $4.48 billion. The company anticipates almost $8.16 billion in revenue for 2026, which would be an 82% increase over last year. So, Palantir is growing faster than the AI software platforms space, and more importantly, its growth rate is accelerating.

We have already seen that Palantir's end market could increase at a 49% CAGR through 2030 in a bull-case scenario. The productivity gains from AI adoption can indeed help the market clock such impressive growth. For instance, economists at the University of California, Berkeley, and the London School of Economics and Political Science note that AI has increased software engineers' productivity by almost 33% between November 2022 and December 2025, as reported by The Register.

Given that Palantir's AIP helps customers boost productivity and reduce redundancy, the company can continue to grow faster than the end market. Assuming Palantir's revenue increases at 60% a year for the next five years, at a slightly stronger pace than the AI software platforms market's projected growth, its top line could reach $85.5 billion after five years (using 2026's $8.16 billion revenue estimate as the base).

If Palantir trades at even 10 times sales at that time, a significant discount to its price-to-sales ratio of 80, its market cap could reach $855 billion. That implies potential upside of 90% over the next five years. However, investors can expect greater upside in this AI stock, as its above-average growth rate is likely to be rewarded with a premium valuation.
