Trump’s June Holdings Revealed: Berkshire, Visa, Mastercard, and SpaceX Become New Buys

Source Tradingkey

TradingKey - According to financial disclosure documents made public on August 22, Eastern Time, Trump's investment accounts executed 1,051 securities transactions in June, with total disclosed transaction values ranging between $78.1 million and $263.1 million.

The disclosure documents show that Trump's accounts bought stocks in June including Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A, BRK.B), Visa (V), Mastercard (MA), Cintas (CTAS), and SpaceX (SPCX), while selling holdings such as Meta (META) and Motorola Solutions (MSI).

The White House emphasized that the investment portfolio is independently managed by a third-party financial institution, which uses computer models to track recognized indices including the Schwab 1000, and that Trump and his family have no authority to direct specific buy or sell decisions.

Trump's son, Eric Trump, previously confirmed that his father's assets are held in a blind trust. Therefore, these transactions do not directly prove that Trump himself made active sector reallocations.

Multiple Block Trades Recorded on June 18

On June 18, several large transactions occurred in Trump's account: selling Meta and Motorola Solutions, while buying Berkshire Hathaway, Visa, Mastercard, and Cintas, with individual trade amounts ranging from $1 million to $5 million.

Notably, the position in Berkshire was not a one-way accumulation. On June 24, the account sold a portion of its Berkshire holdings, indicating two-way trading in the stock during that month.

These transactions occurred during adjustments to Trump's investment account in June, but disclosure documents do not establish a direct causal relationship between the trades and specific policy events. Therefore, rather than interpreting them as a deliberate shift by Trump from tech to financial stocks, they are better viewed as sector allocation changes within the account during the month.

First Disclosure of SpaceX Stake

Another key piece of information revealed in the disclosure is that Trump's account showed SpaceX stock holdings for the first time.

Filings show that on June 23, Trump's account bought SpaceX stock worth between $15,001 and $50,000. Compared to the hundreds of millions of dollars in total transactions disclosed that month, this investment amount was very limited.

SpaceX listed on Nasdaq on June 12 at an offering price of $135 per share, with its stock price once topping $200 post-listing. On the day of Trump's purchase, SpaceX stock fluctuated around $150 and closed at approximately $153 on June 23.

Given SpaceX's extensive business ties with the U.S. government and defense sector, this transaction has also drawn public attention. However, existing disclosure documents cannot prove that Trump himself was involved in the specific decision-making for this trade.

In addition, on August 20, Trump signed a new National Space Transportation Policy memorandum, proposing that the U.S. support more than 1,000 launch and reentry missions annually by 2030. SpaceX is a major player in the U.S. commercial space launch sector.

Other Trades: Defense Stocks, Energy Stocks, ETFs

Trump's account also saw multiple trades in defense and energy-related stocks in June.

For Palantir Technologies (PLTR), the account bought shares on June 3, sold on June 16, and sold shares worth $500,000 to $1 million again on June 18; further Palantir buy transactions occurred on June 23 and 24.

RTX (RTX) and Northrop Grumman (NOC) also appeared in the trading records. On June 12, the account bought $100,000 to $250,000 worth of RTX stock and sold part of its Northrop Grumman position; additional Northrop Grumman-related trades occurred on June 23 and 24.

In addition, between June 12 and June 24, the account also traded Lockheed Martin (LMT) and General Dynamics (GD).

In terms of energy stocks, ExxonMobil (XOM) saw two sell transactions, each valued between $1,001 and $15,000, followed by repurchases at similar prices.

Chevron (CVX) saw three buy and sell transactions. Chevron was previously described by Trump as the only major U.S. oil company operating in Venezuela, and he began trading the stock before launching military action against Venezuela earlier this year.

Additionally, there were three sales of ConocoPhillips (COP), a sale of Valero Energy (VLO), and a purchase of Occidental Petroleum (OXY).

On June 22, the account executed a large ETF sell transaction, selling Vanguard Dividend Appreciation ETF (VIG), valued between $5 million and $25 million.

Summary

Trump's portfolio changes in June revealed a clear direction: shifting from tech growth stocks such as Meta to financial value stocks, while making small new bets on aerospace and defense sectors like SpaceX, with defense and energy stocks also included.

However, whether this portfolio rebalancing reflects Trump's own macroeconomic judgment or programmatic rebalancing by a third-party institution remains inconclusive. While the White House insists the president was unaware, the striking overlap between the direction of trades and policy events makes it difficult for outside observers to be fully convinced.
