Most bettors on Kalshi expect Bitcoin's price to be around $75,000 by the end of the year, while some financial firms believe it could reach $125,000.
Despite a recent uptick in Bitcoin's price, investors have better investment opportunities right now, and the crypto could experience significant price swings through the rest of 2026.
Bitcoin's (CRYPTO: BTC) price has been all over the map in 2026, shooting as high as $92,000 and falling as low as $57,700.
A recent surge in interest in Bitcoin has pushed the world's leading cryptocurrency higher, but prediction markets don't expect the rally to last. Bettors on Kalshi believe Bitcoin will end this year at a price around $75,000, based on the average prediction.

That's far below some of the more bullish estimates for Bitcoin's price, which Standard Chartered thinks could be $100,000 by year-end, and Bernstein says could be $125,000 or higher.
So, what's the most likely scenario? I think the prediction markets may have a better guess on Bitcoin's year-end price this time. Here's why.

Bitcoin's value has tumbled from its all-time high of over $126,000 in late 2025 as many investors have shifted their attention away from cryptocurrencies and toward artificial intelligence stocks.
And who could blame them? Many AI companies have delivered extraordinary revenue and earnings growth, coupled with impressive share price gains. For example, the share price of memory chip company Micron Technology soared more than 700% over the past 12 months as demand for memory surged higher for data centers and devices.
But very recently, there's been an uptick in interest in Bitcoin. Investors were concerned that the U.S. Treasury Department might double its purchases of long-term government bonds to calm bond markets.
Rising inflation and worries that the U.S. national debt officially crossed $40 trillion spurred the Treasury Department to make the move. Investors responded by seeking perceived safe havens, including gold and Bitcoin.
As of Aug. 27, the sudden rush back toward Bitcoin caused its price to spike about 25% in less than two weeks.
But it's unclear right now whether this surge in interest is here to stay or whether investors are reacting in a knee-jerk fashion to economic data and will soon return to a general pessimism about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
If Bitcoin ends this year at $75,000, it would be a pullback from its current price of $80,000 as of this writing. But given the current volatility Bitcoin has experienced and the economic concerns that investors have right now, I think it's a reasonable price estimate.
And it's certainly more reasonable than some of the more bullish estimates I mentioned earlier. Even if investors shift more of their attention to Bitcoin, they'll likely still favor AI stocks over riskier cryptocurrencies.
Either way, Bitcoin's price is likely to see significant swings over the next several months as investors decide whether cryptocurrencies are worth betting on again.
