Square Enix said it will launch its next titles in the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake franchise. The developer announced it will release a compilation of Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake on 30th October this year. The company said it would launch these two new titles in celebration of the game’s first launch on May 27, 1986. The developer has confirmed that the two titles would be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.

The firm revealed Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake were a reimagination of the initial two adventures of the Erdrick Trilogy. The developer said these two adventures had been brought together to form one package. Square Enix stated that the game featured gorgeous HD-2D graphics. The developer also said the game had newly added features to ensure gamers experience the epic fantasy adventures well.
Square Enix revealed the game will be available in many languages, including Chinese, Spanish, French, English, Italian, and Japanese. According to the developer, Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D would feature traditional dragon-style fighting with new animations.
The game would also include a timeless musical score that would capture the essence and magic of the game’s universe. Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D would also have a modernized remake of the originals to ensure gamers get the best version of the game.
The game’s developer has also unveiled an exclusive collector’s edition, which will also be available for purchase. The firm revealed that the collector’s edition would include a standard edition physical game and a complete set of characters and monster blocks. Square Enix added that gamers would also receive an outstanding outfit kit, which included the in-game items of Dragon Quest 1 and 2.
According to the developer, the in-game items would include a ring of strength, slime earrings, exclusive digital wallpapers, a madcap, and Arriviste’s vest. Gamers would also get a pre-order bonus.
The game developer also stated that there would be a digital-only Erdrick Trilogy collection for Dragon Quest HD-2D alongside the game’s launch. Square Enix revealed the Trilogy collection would combine Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake and 3 HD-2D Remake.
The company said there would be a save data bonus for gamers. Square Enix explained that gamers with existing save data for the game would be entitled to bonus in-game items in both games. The firm clarified that those gamers would get a makeover kit that contains one dog suit for Dragon Quest 1 and one cat sui for Dragon Quest 2. The developer said gamers could also earn these items by playing the game.
Square Enix said that any gamer who pre-ordered the digital edition of the game would get a free, trouble-free travel package. The firm explained that the travel kit included a pair of elevating shoes, three seeds of strength, and three seeds of life. The developer added that the kit would also have three seeds of agility and three seeds of magic. Square Enix also clarified that gamers could obtain the pre-order kit by playing the game.
The firm explained to gamers that the in-game items could be obtained by opening the treasure kit at the inn in Midenhall for Dragon Quest 2. The developer added that the in-game items for Dragon Quest 1 could be obtained by opening the treasure kit at the inn in Tantegel.
