Earlier, South Korean stocks faced another sell-off. On October 22, the KOSPI dropped 3.52% to close at 5,533.77 points, erasing all gains from the previous session's rebound. In the Japanese market, Kioxia rose 1.27% to 12,755 yen ($81.17), while SoftBank Group fell 0.67% to 4,276 yen, with the above stocks turning from sharp losses to gains.

Regarding the recent severe volatility in memory chip stocks, AI investment financing pressures and shareholder equity issues remain the focus of market attention. On October 23, SK Hynix announced that, considering market volatility, it is suspending plans to list its subsidiary Solidigm in the U.S. Previously, South Korean regulatory authorities expressed concerns that the plan might harm the interests of the parent company's shareholders. However, SK Hynix stressed that this decision does not indicate a change in Solidigm's growth prospects or investment needs, and that the company will continue to explore financing options to support its expansion and enhance shareholder value.

Dollar presses 102 as the 10-year yield sits at 5.14% — and October hike odds are only 17%The dollar index closed at 101.99 (+0.20%) on Monday after briefly topping 102.07, while the 10-year Treasury yield rose to 5.14% and the 2-year hit 4.774% — yet futures price only about a 17% chance of a hike at the October 27-28 FOMC, versus roughly 90% for December. The driver is a global bond selloff, not a Fed repricing: France's 10-year OAT jumped to 4.84% ~ 4.94% and the OAT-Bund spread widened to 140 ~ 146bp. Here are the levels, the cross-asset read-through and what to watch.
