On its third quarter of 2026 earnings call, held on Nov. 2, 2026, Entergy (NYSE:ETR) raised the lower bound of its 2026 adjusted earnings guidance by $0.10 per share. Network expansion to supply large technological investments provides long-term growth while protecting utility rates for existing residents. Three key takeaways from management explain how the strategy unfolds.

1. Data Center Expansion Lowers Customer Utility Rates

Large technology contracts require significant infrastructure, but ratepayer protection agreements ensure hyperscalers (large-scale cloud and technology providers) cover system costs and reduce bills for local residents.

Expansion will create incremental bill benefits for our Arkansas customers, increasing Entergy Arkansas's expected fair share plus customer bill savings by at least $500 million and bringing the total to at least $7.5 billion across Entergy's utility companies.
-- Andrew S. Marsh, Chair and Chief Executive Officer

2. Standardized Plant Design Cuts Engineering Schedules by Half

Deploying uniform facility blueprints across construction projects limits engineering overhead and protects completion timelines against rising labor costs.

In addition, our standardized design has allowed us to improve efficiency and schedule, through a roughly 50% reduction in the time required for engineering, which helps mitigate exposure to rising labor costs.
-- Andrew S. Marsh, Chair and Chief Executive Officer

3. Higher Capital Spending Pushes Earnings Toward Upper Guidance Limits

Adding $1.5 billion in network capital investments through 2030 supports growing power demand from industrial users and positions earnings near the top of long-term forecasts.

In total, we increased capital approximately $1.5 billion from 2026 through 2030, inclusive of the investments to support the Google expansion. ... The expected earnings impact from this increase moves us into the upper end of our outlook ranges.
-- Kimberly A. Fontan, Chief Financial Officer

Looking Ahead

Industrial power demand accelerates across the Gulf Coast, driven by data centers and heavy manufacturing. Vertical integration (owning generation, transmission, and distribution assets) plus standardized designs give the utility structural advantages during capacity expansion. Management tracks commercial execution across its pipeline.

We see these projects as having the potential to convert into signed agreements within the next 24 months.
-- Andrew S. Marsh, Chair and Chief Executive Officer

Nontraditional financing structures and customer cost-sharing agreements support capital projects without straining the balance sheet.

We have clear line of sight to achieve our outlooks, and we have significant opportunities before us.
-- Kimberly A. Fontan, Chief Financial Officer
