Citi analyst Atif Malik expects Micron to beat its fiscal fourth-quarter guidance.
Micron should see revenue increase more than 300% when it posts earnings on Sept. 30.
Demand for computer memory and storage is expected to remain strong in 2027.
Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU) has been on a great run all year, up 270% and among the best-performing stocks in the S&P 500. And now, as it prepares for its fiscal fourth-quarter 2026 earnings report on Sept. 30, Micron is getting additional respect from Wall Street.
Citi analyst Atif Malik raised his price target on Micron stock from $1,150 to $1,300 this week, citing stronger DRAM pricing and continued tight supply for computer memory and storage due to the build-out of artificial intelligence and data centers.
Missed AI’s "Act 1"? Act 2 Could Be 15x Bigger. Most investors think they missed the AI boat because they didn't buy Nvidia in 2005. But according to our analysts, we’re only at the end of "Act 1"—the R&D phase. "Act 2" is the global rollout. Continue »
Malik wrote in a note that he expects Micron to beat its fiscal fourth-quarter estimates as the DRAM and NAND markets remain under pressure. DRAM prices increased more than 60% in the company's third quarter, and NAND prices rose more than 80%.
The demand for Micron's products and related price increases has helped push Micron's market cap over the $1 trillion mark this year. And based on analyst expectations of another bullish earnings report, Micron seems destined to remain a trillion-dollar stock for a long time.

Boise, Idaho-based Micron is a leading manufacturer of computer memory and storage. It makes both NAND and DRAM -- NAND memory is for long-term storage, and DRAM, or dynamic random-access memory, functions as short-term memory for apps and programs that are in use on a device. Both are important for modern computing.
Revenue in the fiscal third quarter (ending May 28) was $41.45 billion, up an incredible 345% from the previous year and 73% on a sequential basis. Net income increased even more, rising 1,398% to $28.24 billion.
Micron saw increases across the board, with growth particularly strong in its data center business.
| Business Unit | FY 2026 Revenue | FY 2025 Revenue | Percentage Growth |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloud Memory | $13.77 billion | $3.38 billion | 307% |
| Core Data Center | $11.52 billion | $1.53 billion | 653% |
| Mobile and Client | $11.52 billion | $3.25 billion | 254% |
| Automotive and Embedded | $4.63 billion | $1.13 billion | 309% |

"Micron's record fiscal Q3 financial results and even stronger outlook for Q4 reflect the strategic value of memory in the AI era," CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said at the time. "Micron is investing at record levels in technology, products, and supply to address our customers' rapidly growing demand. We believe our multi-year strategic customer agreements will significantly enhance the durability and predictability of Micron's strong financial performance."
Heading into earnings, the consensus estimate is for Micron to report revenue of $51.2 billion, higher than its own guidance of $49 billion to $51 billion. Either way, it appears Micron is set for another quarter of massive growth, with revenue increasing by more than 300% year over year.
The earnings estimate, according to analysts surveyed by Yahoo! Finance, is $31.56 per share, versus Micron's guidance of $29.73 to $31.73 per share. The average price target from 49 analysts covering the stock is $1,515, representing potential upside of 43% from current levels.
Micron's earnings report seems assured to be a good one. But the most important thing to review when the report comes out is the company's outlook -- with NAND and DRAM expected to remain in short supply through 2027, analysts and investors alike will be looking at what revenue and earnings guidance Micron posts for the 2027 fiscal year. A bullish outlook should send the stock even higher, while indications of a slowdown could be catastrophic to the stock price.
