Strive leads Bitcoin buying again as $107.7M purchase pushes stock up 6%

Strive (NASDAQ: ASST) added 1,355 Bitcoin to its treasury for $107.7 million in the latest purchase announced by CEO Matt Cole on Monday, September 21, 2026, extending the firm’s reputation as Bitcoin’s largest buyer in recent times.

With the latest purchase, Strive is now at 26,355 BTC on a stash that has grown almost vertically since the company started buying BTC after its September 2025 merger.

As of this Cryptopolitan report, Strive’s ASST stock was up more than 6% pre-market, riding a month-long rally that saw the stock race past $30 on Friday, September 18.

Who is now leading Bitcoin accumulation?

Cole said Strive paid an average of $79,475 per coin for the latest 1,355 Bitcoin it bought. Bitcoin’s most consistent buyer outdid Michael Saylor’s Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR), whose first Bitcoin purchase since August 31 came in at nearly $76 million on 950 BTC on the same day as the Strive disclosure.

Despite the recent Strive acceleration, Strategy is still in a league of its own, with its $71.9 billion, 846,000 BTC stash miles ahead of Twenty One Capital, the firm closest to it on the accumulation log, with 43,514 BTC. Strive is further behind in fifth place, with 26,355 BTC.

However, where Strive holds a clear lead is in the checks it writes on a week-to-week basis. It bought 1,800 coins in late August, 1,375 the week after, a 469 BTC purchase that pushed it to 25,000, and now this week’s 1,355 BTC.

Comparison of Strive and Strategy’s Bitcoin growth over the last year. Strategy has added more coins, but its growth rate has plateaued because of the sheer size of its stash.

How is Strive funding its Bitcoin buying?

Strive has leaned almost entirely on SATA, its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Preferred Stock, which pays a 13% dividend every business day and crossed $1 billion in notional value earlier this month. The prior week’s 469-coin buy was funded 100% by SATA, as Cryptopolitan reported.

Cole said warrant exercises began last week and brought in $21.2 million in gross proceeds. Counting that new money, SATA accounted for 57.7% of the total capital raised, a lower share than the all-preferred weeks that preceded it. The warrants give Strive a second lever to pull without leaning harder on its daily-paying preferred.

Markets are moving in on ASST

ASST has been on a run since it closed August 18 at $12.80. It traded above $30 by September 18, a gain of more than 120% in a month, per Google Finance data. Year to date, the stock is up roughly 90%, with a market value around $2.5 billion to $2.6 billion.

The rally has also lifted SATA back to its $100 par, which keeps the at-the-market program that funds the coin buying open for business.

The backdrop helps. Bitcoin tapped $85,000 on Monday for the first time since January, its highest in months. Strive’s 26,355 coins are worth about $2.2 billion at current prices, according to Bitcoin Treasuries.

US to delay new "overcapacity" tariffs on China — what the pause means for trade, inflation and the dollarWashington is expected to hold off announcing new tariffs over Chinese "overcapacity" until after the 24 September summit, according to Bloomberg. The postponed plan would have added 7.5% to Chinese goods, taking second-term US tariffs to around 20%. Here is what is on the table, and what a deal versus no deal would mean for the yuan, Hong Kong equities and the dollar.
