TradingKey - UNI surges intraday to touch $8.8, hitting a new high since November 2025, with bulls targeting $12.
On September 18, Uniswap (UNI) surged over 25%, leading the entire cryptocurrency market. UNI's price hit a high of $8.8 today, setting a new high since November 2025. As of press time, the price of UNI has pulled back, temporarily trading at $8.5.
The primary driver of UNI's price surge is the implementation of regulatory standards for tokenized equities. Yesterday, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued an innovation exemption statement, allowing tokenized U.S. stocks to trade on permissioned AMM DEXs, with Uniswap—as the world's largest and most liquid DEX—seen by the market as the biggest beneficiary of this trend.
In July this year, Uniswap launched permissioned pools, which now perfectly align with the regulatory tailwinds. Uniswap founder Hayden posted on social media platform X yesterday, stating, "This exemption applies to permissioned pools on Uniswap v4, opening a path for compliant trading in the U.S. for assets and users that need it."
In July this year, Uniswap positioned itself on Robinhood Chain, spurring an explosion in trading volume and protocol fees. Driven by improving fundamentals, the amount of UNI burned climbed steadily, propelling its price up over 200% from a low near $2.8 to date. However, UNI still trails significantly behind its $45 peak, with the next resistance around $12, corresponding to a weak resistance at the 0.236 Fibonacci level.
