TSMC Q3 Revenue Tops Its Own Guidance and the 19-Analyst Forecast

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) said September revenue rose 54.6% from a year earlier to NT$511.86 billion ($16.03 billion). The result lifted third-quarter revenue to a record NT$1.49 trillion.

TSMC’s Taiwan-listed shares closed 1.35% lower at NT$2,550 on Thursday, before the company published the figures.

How September Revenue Pushed TSMC to a Record Quarter

September revenue slipped 0.6% from August’s NT$514.81 billion, according to TSMC’s release. However, revenue for the first nine months still climbed 41.1% to NT$3.90 trillion.

Reuters calculated third-quarter revenue at NT$1.49 trillion, a 50% rise from a year earlier. That beat the NT$1.46 trillion LSEG SmartEstimate, which draws on 19 analysts.

In July, TSMC guided $44.6 billion to $45.8 billion. At the current exchange rate, the quarter equals about $46.71 billion, above that range.

The record follows a strong second quarter, when net income jumped 77.4% to NT$706.56 billion. TSMC then raised its 2026 growth outlook to slightly above 40%.

Why New York Gets the First Read on TSMC’s Record Quarter

Thursday’s decline pulled the stock back from its record close of NT$2,585. The broader TAIEX fell 1% on the same day.

Even after the dip, Taiwan-listed shares are up 60.88% this year from NT$1,585 at the end of 2025.

In New York, TSMC’s American depositary receipts (ADRs) closed 2.09% lower at $472.20 on Wednesday, down from $482.30 a day earlier. Still, they remain up 55.39% in 2026, Google Finance data shows.

TSMC released the figures after Taiwan’s market closed. As a result, the ADRs will trade on them first when US markets open on Thursday. Taiwan-listed shares resume on October 12, after the National Day holiday.

The next test comes on October 15, when TSMC reports earnings. Analysts expect net profit to climb 64% to NT$740.8 billion, according to an LSEG SmartEstimate.
