OpenAI Tops 3 Million Paid Business Users, Korea Fuels Growth as No. 2 Market; Aims for $12.7 Billion Revenue

Source Tradingkey

TradingKey - On Wednesday, leading artificial intelligence company OpenAI announced that its number of paid business users has increased to 3 million, a significant growth from 2 million in February. This increase is primarily driven by subscriptions to the Enterprise version (ChatGPT Enterprise), Team version (ChatGPT Team), and Education version (ChatGPT Edu).

At the same time, OpenAI's Chief Strategy Officer Jason Kwon stated on Monday that South Korea has become the second-largest paid market for ChatGPT globally, following the United States, with weekly active users growing 4.5 times over the past year.

The surge in paid users has led to revenue growth, with reports suggesting that OpenAI expects its revenue to reach 12.7 billion by 2025, more than triple last year's 3.7 billion.

COO Brad Lightcap noted that consumer growth for ChatGPT and enterprise applications have a "close synergistic effect."

Currently, OpenAI’s business tools are widely used in heavily regulated industries such as financial services and healthcare, with companies like Morgan Stanley and Uber among its enterprise customers.

However, alongside the rapid increase in enterprise users, OpenAI also faces fierce competition from tech giants like Microsoft and Google, which offer deeply integrated services through their existing enterprise ecosystems such as Teams and Workspace.
