  • The OORT Foundation has burned 1.5 million OORT tokens to drive the ecosystem’s growth.
  • The foundation has burned a total of 8.27 million OORT tokens since the beginning of the year and a total of 17.35 million OORT tokens since its inception.
  • In August, the OORT Foundation unleashed a primary token unlock but burnt 4 million tokens worth $116,000.

The OORT Foundation has announced another quarter’s burn. The foundation permanently removed 1.5 million OORT tokens from circulation as part of its efforts to drive ecosystem growth and provide long-term value to its community members.

The latest announcement from the OORT foundation, a scalable AI data collector, reveals it is employing deflationary mechanisms to reduce its token supply.

The mechanisms will benefit community members and long-term OORT holders by reducing the token supply, thereby increasing the scarcity of the token, which causes a surge in demand.

OORT Foundation has initiated yet another quarter burn worth $33,810. The foundation purchased and burned 1.5 million OORT tokens on November 18th to provide long-term value to community members and enhance the ecosystem’s sustainable growth. The burnt supply represents 0.08% of the ecosystem’s total supply of $2 billion and 0.23% of the OORT circulating supply.

The token burn was executed in two transactions. The first transaction involved 900k OORT tokens and was executed through Gate.io, while the remaining 600k were executed on Bitget. The burn marked the fourth quarterly burn. Besides the scheduled burn, the foundation also burned 1,471,606 OORT through a separate mechanism.

In August, the OORT Foundation initiated a primary token unlock, but burned 4 million tokens worth $116,000, marking what the team described as a more stable phase for the project’s token economy. Since the unlock, the team highlighted that only 6 million tokens will be unlocked every quarter over the next two and a half years.

The foundation also announced that it will pursue massive adoption within its ecosystem through Deimos Edge Nodes I and II, as well as the Olympus Layer-1 blockchain, based on directed acyclic graph (DAG) technology. DAG technology represents a new, more efficient method of reshaping data that uses less energy than other data structures.

The foundation has burnt 8.272 million tokens in 2025

The OORT Foundation’s initiative to buy back and burn its tokens has now removed 8.272 million OORT tokens from circulation in 2025, bringing the total number of OORT tokens burnt to 17.35 million. The figure represents 0.87% of the total 2 billion supply and 2.69% of the current circulating supply.

The foundation announced that starting this quarter, it will allocate more revenue towards strategic marketing campaigns as well as user acquisition for DataHub, its decentralized AI data cloud platform.

The foundation also pledged that a significant portion will still be used to buy back and burn OORT tokens. The announcement detailed that the foundation will purchase OORT from the open market and send it to a black hole address, permanently withdrawing the token supply from circulation.
