TradingKey - Salesforce has a confirmed closing price of $255.65, down 1.46% and approaching the intraday reference of $255.88. Split from the support region of $242, the stock has recovered the 23.6% Fibonacci level at $252.10. The next major resistance line is $268.31. With respect to AI as a service (as noted by Dreamforce), there are some solid differentiating fundamentals. Firstly, Salesforce is moving away from the traditional SaaS interface toward the data, workflow, and action layer beneath multiple AI assistants. Agentforce ARR is above $1.5 billion and when combined with Data 360 ARR, is approaching $3.9 billion.
Salesforce beat expectations and reported an increase of 11% in total revenue for the second quarter to $11.3 billion. The corresponding year-over-year growth in subscription and support revenue was 12%, to $10.8 billion. CRPO, representing the value of future contract obligations, increased by 14% to $33.5 billion. Total RPO (cumulatively booked contracts) grew by 11% year over year to $66.3 billion.
The forward indicator is the quality of forward demand. Management noted that growth of net new annual order value (AAV) was the strongest in four years, and aligned with this, both operating cash flow and free cash flow increased by 71% and 81%, respectively, year over year.
On an annualized basis Agentforce ARR increased by more than 240% to more than $1.5 billion. Combined Agentforce and Data 360 ARR is approaching $3.9 billion, an increase of more than 210% year over year.
Usage is increasing at an exponential rate. Salesforce has delivered close to 7 billion Agentic Work Units. During the second quarter of this year, Salesforce delivered 3.2 billion Work Units. In addition, bookings of premium Agentforce products more than doubled quarter over quarter.
It is significant because it indicates that Salesforce has moved beyond product demonstrations and pilot programs for Agentforce. Now, customers are spending real, recurring, and consumption-based dollars on this product offering.
The biggest news to come out of Dreamforce 2026 is the launch of AIforce by Salesforce. AIforce is a new live interface layer of Salesforce for AI tools and Partner third-party tools. They can now access Salesforce data, workflows, permissions, governance, and logic.
AIforce is an architectural answer to one of the biggest issues in traditional SaaS. If employees begin to interact with interfaces such as Claude or Slack, rather than opening Salesforce, Salesforce wants to stay the system of record and action layer that sits under those interfaces.
This is a stronger answer than attempting to preserve the legacy CRM interface at all costs.
Claudeforce is Salesforce’s first step in implementing the new headless strategy. With Salesforce continuing to be the enterprise data and workflow layer, users are now able to engage with Salesforce through Anthropic’s Claude.
Salesforce also unveiled Koa, their CRM reasoning model, which they built using Nvidia technology, and trained on decades of CRM expertise, designed to be used in enterprise workflows, and remains within the Salesforce trust boundary. Koa is Salesforce’s first CRM reasoning model, built on NVIDIA Nemotron and post-trained on a proprietary synthetic dataset modeled on 27 years of Salesforce CRM deployments.
The strategy is moving toward model neutrality. Salesforce is now giving customers the option to use Claude, Gemini, Bedrock models, Nvidia models, or Koa while Salesforce continues to own the enterprise context.
It is now the primary data layer for Salesforce’s agentic products. Data 360 usage in Q2 this year show that 104 trillion data records were ingested, with 82 trillion ingested via Zero Copy, up 731% year over year.
That is important because AI agents only serve a purpose when databases are populated with accurate customer, transaction and operational data. Nowadays, the competitive advantage Salesforce claims is that it provides an AI assistant. The company now has the ability to integrate CRM data with business logic and workflows, along with multiple AI models.
Salesforce completed purchases of both Fin and Contentful earlier this year. Salesforce completed the Contentful acquisition on September 1 and the Fin acquisition on September 10. Fin focuses on enhancing customer service resources for agents, while Contentful adds a layer to the system that facilitates the Headless 360 strategy.
While there may be an increased level of integration risk with these two new resources, Salesforce is slowly building out its AI system across customer service, content, data, and workflow automation.
Salesforce reported a non-GAAP operating margin of 34.1% in the second quarter, a strong indication that it has room for further investment in AI while maintaining generous buybacks to shareholders.
Management’s aggressive buyback program, a $25 billion accelerated share redemption program, has created a strong tailwind for earnings per share, at the cost of increased company debt. The $25 billion accelerated share repurchase was funded with proceeds from $25 billion of senior notes issued in March 2026; Salesforce had $33.3 billion of senior unsecured notes outstanding as of July 31.
The trade-off, in this case, may not be worth the cost of increased debt. With Treasury rates at 5%, this was a poor choice of company financing made by management.
The most important near-term event, Salesforce’s Dreamforce Investor & Analyst Session on September 16 at 1 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. ET, is when we expect management to share financial and operational updates. We are particularly interested in adjustments to management’s financial framework, and how they will impact long-term opportunities, including long-term revenue goals, and the expected 2nd half organic growth and margin and free cash flow goals.
Since that session hasn't happened yet, I will look at this article as pre-session prep. I'll consider this article a suggestion unless new guidance is given.
CRM closed at $255.65 on September 15 as it approached the $255.88 reference provided on the chart after rebounding from the $242 support region. The 4-hour analysis remains positive as buyers stepped in to defend the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement at $242.07 and brought prices back to the 23.6% level at $252.10.

Salesforce Stock Price Chart - Source: Tradingview
The first significant resistance can be found at $268.31, the recent high. With a 4-hour close above this level, the bulls would become active and drive prices further up towards $281.48 and $296.09.
The RSI is at 60, and the price action is positively aligned with the signal line at 61. A breakout is possible, but for now, it is out of the question.
Should prices break down, the next support levels can be found at $252.10 and $242.07, with key support at $233.96 and $225.86.
· Latest Close: $255.65
· Immediate Support: $252.10
· Key Support: $242.07
· Secondary Support: $233.96
· Deeper Support: $225.86
· Key Resistance: $268.31
· First potential target: $281.48
· Second target: $296.09
Salesforce’s Dreamforce 2026 has added to the company’s AI narrative with the introduction of AIForce, Claudeforce, Koa and the broader AgentForce. Meanwhile, the AI narrative is strengthened by management’s financial targets of approximately $1.5 billion ARR for AgentForce, 14% cRPO growth and strong free cash flow.
An sustained 4-hour close above $268.31 would confirm the continuation of the price reaching $281.48 and then $296.09. A break down of $242.07 would significantly take away from the current bullish structure.
Salesforce's September 16th setup is a good indicator of AI's ability to continue to be a growth driver for an established SaaS product in the marketplace. With Agentforce ARR, AIforce, and Data 360, Salesforce has a way to continue to be relevant to its customers even if they move away from the traditional interfaces. The largest concerns are the AI product disrupting the traditional Salesforce business model, and the increasing debt. From a technical perspective, I remain bullish on CRM as long as it stays above $242.07, with $252.10 the first near-term pivot/support. If it breaks above $268.31, I would look to extend my position to $281.48 and $296.09.
