Nokia Rises Over 6% Pre-Market, Partners With C3IA to Accelerate UK Defense Digital Transformation

TradingKey - On September 16, Nokia Defense, the defense business unit of Nokia (NOK), and C3IA, a UK systems engineering and security services company, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Reached during the Defence Vehicle Dynamics (DVD) 2026 exhibition, the partnership will integrate advanced connectivity technologies with defense systems integration capabilities to jointly support the digital transformation of the UK defense sector.

As of press time, Nokia's U.S. pre-market stock was trading at $10.43, up 6%.

Under the agreement, the collaboration between the two parties will span land, air, sea, cyber, and space domains, providing resilient communications, secure information sharing, and network interoperability solutions. Specific focus areas include tactical and operational communications, private 4G and 5G networks, situational awareness, command and control (C2), sensing, autonomous systems, and edge computing.

The partnership builds on both companies' participation in the UK Ministry of Defence's Tactical Communications Systems framework (TacSys, RM6393). Valued at a total of £8 billion across three lots—services, systems, and components—the framework enables the UK Ministry of Defence and other public sector entities to procure tactical communications solutions.
